Hi G. First, run a dxdiag from the run command prompt. Wait for the program to run fully and save the info. Post it here. This way people can really see what your system looks like.
But you could also check a couple other things first. One, be sure ALL your drivers are up to date. That means gfx's, audio, lan, mobo, everything. Go to all the websites and dl them from there. I find this will fix so many problems.
Second, it may be your isp. I'm on a university line that is lightning fast. However my connection still lags from time to time. I can only imagine what other people have to go through to get a good, stable connection.
